People who want to discover the land of the Kyrgyz nomads, this tour is for you! Kyrgyz Republic is an ideal place for trekking over incredible Celestial mountains, as well as through gorgeous gorges. Here it is possible to see the 2nd largest mountainous lake in the world - Issyk - Kul. You will practice the nomadic way of lifestyle far away from the hectic of busy and stifling cities.
Day 1: Bishkek - Chon Kemin valley
Our guide will meet you at Manas International Airport and accompany to Bishkek (30 min. drive), there your first day in Kyrgyzstan will start with a nice breakfast. The 2nd part of the day you will spend following Bishkek City Tour, including lunch. The City tour comprises the visiting of the central Ala-Too Square, Duboviy Park (Oak Park), Pobeda Square (Victory Square), the History Museum, Kyrgyz National Concert Hall and the monument of Manas, Oriental Bazaar (Osh), the Museum of Fine Arts and many others attractions of the capital. After that we will be taken to the Chon Kemin valley and stop there in the Kalmak-Ashuu Guesthouse, where you also will spend the night. En route, we will stop in the Burana Tower Historical Complex (minaret of the 11 century) and its attached open air museum of Balbans (stone warriors). You will have your dinner at 7 o'clock.
Day 2: Chon Kemin valley - Tamga
When you finish your breakfast that is served at 7 o'clock, you will start your trip to Tamga village (380 km, 6 h trip) by car. We will see the southern shore of the Celestial Issyk-Kul Lake, also to be known as "The Pearl of Tien - Shan Mountains". Issyk - Kul is the second largest mountain lake in the world (1608m. a. s. l.). This evening dinner is served in the Tamga Guesthouse, where you will spend the night.
Day 3: Tamga - Jukku gorge - pass Jukku
Just after the breakfast we leave Tamga Guesthouse at 8 o'clock by car and go to the entrance of the Jukka gorge. This place is the beginning for hiking through the gorge until we arrive at the foot of the pass Jukka. Lunch is on the way. The gorge of Jukku is the place where Kyrgyz nomadic shepherds still live in yurts and you have a superb chance to try national drink kumis - fermented mare's milk. Your dinner is served in the open air and night stay is in tents in wild nature.
Day 4: Pass Jukku - Ak-Shirak
The meal is served at 8 o'clock. The hiking over the pass Jukku. We will stop to have a lunch. Afterward our hiking will be continued along the Silk Road (7hours) inside the Ak Shirak mountain massive (average altitude there is 3680m above sea level), it is renowned for its mountain Chokoli lakes. They take their origin in glaciers. There is a stunning outlook over the best part of these mountain lakes. This night is spent in yurts near the lakes, as soon as you have a dinner.
Days 5-7: Syrty Ak-Shirak (3000m above sea level)
It is a 3-days-hike from Ak Shirak along the southern side of the Terskey Ala-Too Mountains to arrive at the foot of Ashu-Tor glacier, (3600 - 4200m). This trip offers you will also the observation of the gorgeous Ara-Belsu Lake. The massive of Ak - Shirak is the place where ancient and medieval traders hid from robbery, where you feel yourself under the protection of good spirits looking after you. The all nights are to be spent in traditional nomadic collapsible dwellings - yurts, which represent wooden frame made without a single nail and covered with felt.
Day 8: Gorge Ashu-Tor
After a breakfast you will hike over 4000 m. Ashu-Tor pass. Crossing the pass you will have an overlook of the Ashu-Tor glacier, you will have a picnic there. Then you will arrive at the Ara-Belsu Lake before starting the descent to Ashu-Tor gorge by passing through the dazzling Northern Ashu-Tor valley (7 Hours, 3250m). Your overnight stay is organized in tents after your dinner.
Day 9: Gorge Ashu-Tor - Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu
After having packing your backpacks, you will be served breakfast at 8 o'clock before you start your 7 hours hike down to the valley of Chon Kyzyl Suu and the old geophysics station at the altitude of 2650m. The break for lunch is organized on the way. Dinner is given at 8 p.m. The night will be spend in yurts of real nomads. A yurta is an exclusive collapsible dwelling made of felt and wooden frame without nails, erecting and collapsing of which takes only several hours, respectively.
Day 10: Gorge Chon-Kyzyl-Suu - Bishkek
8 o'clock breakfast. In the morning, you will be guided down to the thermal springs of Jeli Suu, (1 hour) where you can take a swim. After having lunch you will be transferred back to Bishkek (350km) by car along the southern shore of Celestial Lake of Issyk - Kul (1600m.ab.s.l.) through the superb Boom gorge. You will be accommodated in Bishkek at a Hotel **** at around 7 p.m., where you will have enough time for yourself until you are picked up from the hotel at 8 p.m. Wonderful farewell dinner will be organized for you in a restaurant with a national folklore show in the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
Day 11: Return Journey
Your guide will meet you at the hotel at the time that was arranged previously according to your flight details and accompany you to Manas Airport.
